Jacquay Waller, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, has always been destined to be a man of many talents.  He is a true Renaissance Man! Jacquay’s training in classical music began at a young age and his acting career began as an adolescent. These talents awarded him vocal and academic scholarships to Tennessee State University (TSU), where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.

Upon leaving TSU, Jacquay took his first job in corporate America as a rocket scientist for Raytheon Missile Company in Tucson, AZ. Although successful there, he knew that his calling into the ministry could not be ignored and Jacquay enrolled in Candler School of Theology at Emory University. His love for the arts was re-awakened while attending Emory. In his last year of seminary, Jacquay produced and directed the show “Coming From Where I’m From.” This directorial debut was the catalyst for launching DreamCatcher Productions in Atlanta, Georgia.

Jacquay re-entered the corporate world not long after obtaining his Master’s of Divinity (M.Div.) from Emory University. He even earned his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Troy University and multiple professional certifications throughout his matriculation.  Many would be satisfied with the accolades of the business world and opportunities for advancement found there. However, Jacquay knew he still had to nurture his artistic talents and spiritual goals. He became an accomplished member of AmeriColor Opera Alliance and lauched his nonprofit, DreamCatcher Collective, Inc., to help educate and nurture emerging artists in all genres; to help others “Catch their Dreams”.

While honing his skills through avenues such as opera, film, and stage performances, Jacquay continued to build DreamCatcher Productions. The company serves a conduit for developing and producing fresh content for the stage and screen. Jacquay serves as actor, writer, director and producer for DreamCatcher Productions/Entertainment. To date, he has produced over 100 shows and counting! He is the creative genius behind the “Black Man-O-logues” series of stage plays.  Some of his other credits include, “Fading Flowers”, “Choices”, “Tears of A Rose”, “Traffik”, “Smoking Gun”, “Race Me”, “Black Knight”, “Madame C.J. Walker,” “Porgy and Bess,” “King Solomon,” “Unspoken,” “dAting in the A”, and many others. Jacquay is the proud recipient of the James A. Hyter award and the African American Playwright Exchange (AAPEX) Artist of the Year Award.
